2007 INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW Cars are the Stars at 2007 International Auto Show Race Cars, Exotics, Customs and Collector Cars Join 41 New Car Manufacturers Sacramento – The only place to see the new 2007-2008 models from 41 different manufacturers is the 2007 Sacramento International Auto Show at Cal Expo November 9-12. With displays taking up thirteen buildings and 450,000 square feet, this year’s show will be the largest new car event ever in Sacramento history. The International Auto Show will feature models from Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Ferrari, GMC, Honda, Hummer, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Lotus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mercury, Mini, Nissan, Pontiac, Rolls-Royce, Saab, Saturn, Scion, Spyker, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo. In the General Motors display, the Saturn Outlook makes its Sacramento debut and is joined by the ever-popular 2006 Chevrolet Z06 Corvette and the Pontiac G6 GT Convertible. Pre-production vehicles will also join General Motors line-up. The Acadia, GMC’s first cross-over SUV, and the Sierra 2500, a monster, heavy-duty truck will be showcased in the GMC display. The HHR Panel which sports a retro-wagon look will be featured in the Chevrolet display. With hybrids all the rage, the Altima Hybrid takes the stage in the Nissan display and Hummer reaches and exciting new phase with the H3x. The Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Spec B arrives in Sacramento along with Dodge’s first mid-size sport-utility vehicle, the Nitro. Buick adds a new and improved sedan to their line-up, the Lucern CXS. After 40 years, racing legend Carroll Shelby and Ford Mustang are back together with the introduction of the 2007 Ford Shelby GT 500. Land Rover gets the Range Rover Sport, a smaller, faster Range Rover. This mid-size SUV features Terrain Response, a system that automatically adjusts the truck’s running gear to cope with different terrains. Mazda lights it up in 2007 with the CX7, a 6 speed which processes a 244 horsepower engine. Mini Cooper goes topless with the S Convertible. This cute convertible has an automatic sunroof built right into the soft top roof; a feature not found on any other convertible. Mini will be displaying their full line-up in the breezeway between building’s A and B at Cal Expo. Also going convertible for 2007 is the hardtop Volvo C70. With the top up, it’s a sporty coupe and a mere 30 seconds later, with the top stowed below the rear deck, it’s an open-air convertible. If exotic cars are to your taste, Spyker, Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Lotus are making an appearance in the Silicon Valley Auto Group display in Building B. Also highlighting that exhibit will be the Rolls-Royce Phantom retailing for over $300,000. In Expo Center at Cal Expo, Race cars meet new cars at the 2007 Sacramento International Auto Show when more than two thousand horsepower will be on display in the Infineon Raceway Building. Also in their display will be information on the upcoming 2007 season such as the Ferrari Challenge, FRAMM Autolite NHRA Nationals and the Grand Prix of Sonoma. Also in Expo Center is The Horseless Carriage Club of America, El Dorado Regional Group presenting Horseless Carriages from 1907-1915. Their display includes a 1908 Rio Runabout, a 1915 Ford Model T Touring and a 1911 Chalmers 30 Speedster. A preview of the 2007 Sacramento Autorama and the 2007 National Street Rod Association (NSRA) Golden State Street Rod National can also be found in Expo Center. The NSRA Building will showcase magnificent street rods produced before 1949. The Autorama Building will feature the coolest in custom rods. The BigKidToys.com / Alternate Transportation Building will feature the T-Rex, a hand-built exotic 3-wheeled motorcycle that will out-perform the average Ferrari or Lamborghini. Accompanying the T-Rex will be electronic cars, scooters, electric golf carts and much more. Debuting this year is Harley Davidson of Sacramento located in the Expo Center. The Harley Davidson display will feature the latest and loudest Harley Davidson motorcycles including the FXSTC Softail Custom. There will also be booths full of Harley Davidson merchandise to purchase such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, pins and much more. Kids are also the stars in the Kid Zone Building in Expo Center. The Kid Zone will be the largest ever this year, thanks to an ongoing partnership with the California Highway Patrol who will once again be creating free child identification cards for parents. Also in the Kid Zone is booster seat and child safety seat information and instruction on how to properly install both. Kids will be able to entertain themselves with games, activities, children’s movies and right next door will be a place where parents can relax and have a cup of coffee and watch their children have fun. On Sunday, from 12-6pm, children 18 and under accompanied by an adult will be admitted free. For a sneak peak at some of the vehicles that will be on display at the 2007 Sacramento International Auto Show, the official show program will be distributed to the following locations on October 27, 2006 -- Raley’s, Safeway, Wal Mart, Smart Foods, Save Mart, Bel Air, Food 4 Less, Food Max, Hollywood Video and AM PM convenience stores and all Central Valley New Car Dealers Association members. The 2007 Sacramento International Auto Show is presented by the Central Valley New Car Dealers Association. Auto Show tickets will be on sale at the door only. Admission is $9 for adults, with children under 12 free. Two-dollar off discount coupons are available at participating Central Valley New Car Dealer Association members and area 76 Gas Stations. Auto Show hours are: Thursday, November 9 and Friday, November 10, 11:00am-9:00pm; Saturday, November 11, 10:00am – 8:00pm; and Sunday, November 12, 11:00am – 6:00pm.
